How Fantasy Hockey Points Work

In fantasy hockey, points are awarded based on player actions and game outcomes. Use our detailed point system to track your team’s performance and make the most of every match-up.

Goalie:

  • Win: +5 points
  • Shutout: +5 points
  • Save: +0.5 points per save
  • Goal Allowed: -1 point per goal allowed
  • Assist: +3 points
  • Goal Scored: +5 points
  • Penalty Minute: -0.5 points per minute
  • Loss: -3 points

Defenseman:

  • Goal Scored: +5 points
  • Assist: +3 points
  • Shot Blocked: +1 point per blocked shot
  • Plus/Minus (Per Point): +1 point for a +1 rating, -1 point for a -1 rating
  • Hit: +0.5 points per hit
  • Penalty Minute: -0.5 points per minute
  • Power Play Point: +1 point for a power play goal or assist
  • Shorthanded Point: +2 points for a shorthanded goal or assist
  • Giveaway: -0.5 points per giveaway
  • Takeaway: +0.5 points per takeaway

Forward:

  • Goal Scored: +5 points
  • Assist: +3 points
  • Shot on Goal: +0.5 points per shot on goal
  • Plus/Minus (Per Point): +1 point for a +1 rating, -1 point for a -1 rating
  • Hit: +0.5 points per hit
  • Power Play Point: +1 point for a power play goal or assist
  • Shorthanded Point: +2 points for a shorthanded goal or assist
  • Penalty Minute: -0.5 points per minute
  • Giveaway: -0.5 points per giveaway
  • Takeaway: +0.5 points per takeaway

Team Points (For All Players):

  • Win: +3 points
  • Loss: -1 point
  • Shutout: +5 points (goalie-specific but awarded to the team for a shutout)
  • Overtime Win: +2 points
  • Overtime Loss: +1 point

Special Scoring:

  • Hat Trick (3 Goals in a Game): +5 bonus points
  • Assist Streak (3+ Assists in a Game): +3 bonus points
  • Game-Winning Goal: +2 bonus points
  • Fight: +1 point (for a player that gets involved in a fight)
